LONDON (AP) — U.S international Josh Sargent injured an ankle while scoring in Norwich’s 4-0 victory over Huddersfield in England’s second-tier Championship on Saturday. Sargent was tackled by goalkeeper Lee Nicholls when heading the ball into an open net to give Norwich the lead in the 11th minute, after blocking the keeper’s attempted clearance. Nicholls then appeared to land on Sargent’s ankle and the striker remained on the ground before being substituted. “It looks like a serious ankle injury, unfortunately,” Norwich coach David Wagner said. “We will assess him tomorrow, and then we will have to wait and see how serious it actually is.”Sargent has scored in Norwich’s last three league games, with the team sitting in second place after four matches. ___AP soccer: https://apnews.com/hub/soccerSource

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester United came from two goals down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the English Premier League on Saturday.Bruno Fernandes’ 76th-minute penalty completed a comeback after the visitors went down to 10 men. United had its worst-ever start to a league game. Poor defending helped give Forest lead 2-0 after less than four minutes. Taiwo Awoniyi scored on a counterattack after just 86 seconds, and Willy Boly quickly doubled the lead from a free kick. It was the first time United trailed by two goals four minutes into a league match, but Christian Eriksen pulled one back by converting a cross from Marcus Rashford in the 17th.Casemiro wasted a great chance to level but made amends shortly after halftime when the midfielder slotted home at the end of a clever free kick routine.Joe Worrall was shown a straight red card for denying Fernandes a goalscoring opportunity in the 67th, and the United captain then scored the winner from the spot after Danilo w...

His Soudal-Quickstep and other teams raced in near darkness.DSM marked the best time of 17 minutes, 30 seconds and Lorenzo Milesi will be the first rider to wear the red jersey for the three-week race.Evenepoel was visibly upset when he crossed the finish line, saying, “We are not monkeys in a circus.”The Belgian time trialing world champion was apparently upset that his team, which started last as last year’s winner, had to ride in the darkness due to the clouds that made nightfall come earlier than expected – and provided much needed rain for the drought-stricken area.He said they had “water in the face” and (could not) see “one meter in front of you.”Evenepoel’s Soudal-Quickstep was only six se...

When Bregman blocked catcher Connor Wong as he attempted to track the ball, Whitlock sprang into action. He raced off the mound and slid, feet-first, to catch the ball by the on-deck circle.Though Bregman ended up being called out due to batter interference, Whitlock’s tenacity provided viewers with an epic and impressive moment. But when Whitlock posted the clip to his own Instagram hours later, it was the cheeky caption that caught attention:“I don’t want to hear any more of this talk about how @tanner_houck11 is more athletic than me.”Shots fired.“It’s fine, he can say what he wants,...
